University of California campuses provide a variety of activities and
programs that enrich the K-12 curriculum - from the sciences to the humanities,
and for both classroom and after-school activities.
Museums, Galleries, and Gardens
(please note that (1) next to the name indicates
that there are resources (other than tours) available for K-12 teachers
and students; (2) indicates online collections available to the

Science Centers
- The UC Berkeley
Education and Outreach Office of the Center for Particle Astrophysics
works to support science teachers; to make science accessible and relevant
to the general public; and to attract and retain a more diverse group
of K-12 students into science.
- The Lawrence Hall of Science
is a public science museum and a center for teacher education, research,
and curriculum development at UC Berkeley.
- The UCLA Physics & Astronomy K-6
Connection provides elementary school teachers with ideas, activities,
and instructional support to include basic physics and astronomy in
their lesson plans.
- The Birch Aquarium at
UC San Diego provides ocean science education through creative exhibits,
programs, and activities.
- The Seymour Marine Discovery
Center at UC Santa Cruz is a one-of-a-kind experience with marine
animals, science educators, and interactive materials for K-12 students.
- UC Cooperative Extension
provides a wide variety of science and nutrition
programs and science curricula for K-12 youth, many offered in after-school
settings through the 4H Program.
- The UC Natural Reserve System,
which manages 33 diverse wildland sites across California, provides
wide-ranging K-12 activities at natural reserves including class field
trips, student internships, and a summer field school.
- The Lawrence Berkeley National
Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory, and Los Alamos National Laboratory
have a variety of science programs and activities for K-12 teachers
and students.
Humanities
- UC ArtsBridge,
based at UC Irvine, connects with California public schools to provide
art, dance, drama, and music education.
- Humanities Out There
at UC Irvine encourages students from all backgrounds to increase their
general literacy by incorporating the humanities into their studies.
- Dickens in the Classroom
at UC Santa Cruz is a workshop for English literature teachers that
demonstrates strategies for teaching Dickens in the schools.
