Tutoring, mentoring, test preparation, and other special academic support and enrichment programs

• The California State Summer School in Mathematics and Science (COSMOS) is a new pre-college residential experience at UC Irvine and UC Santa Cruz that gives participating high school students access to the laboratories of UC scientists and engineers, enabling them to explore advanced topics not traditionally offered in high school curricula.

• The UC College Prep (UCCP), based at UC Santa Cruz, program provides Advanced Placement and honors courses on the Internet, so that more students are competitive in their applications to UC and other universities.
